Gordon Country will be hosting the inaugural "Warm the Cockles of your Heart" festival with a:

• CAMP OVEN COOK-OFF, and
• BEST DRESSED GUM TREE CAMP Site

COMPETITION 1: 

CAMP OVEN COOK-OFF :

BEST ADULT CAMP OVEN CHEFS (over 18)

• Roast:  Winner $75 and runner up $35
• Soup:   Winner $75 and runner up $35
• Stew:    Winner$75 and runner up $35
• Sweets: Winner $75 and runner up $35

BEST JUNIOR CAMP OVEN CHEFS

 Camp Oven Roast or Stew:  $75 to winner and $35 2nd and $20 3rd prize

COMPETITION 2:

BEST DRESSED GUM TREE CAMP Site

• Best dressed Camp Site with LED lights - $75 to winner
• Best dressed Camp Site without lights - $75 to winner

RULES

• No limit to Numbers in both competitions 
• Camp Oven Judging: Independent Judging from local University (USQ)
• Camp Oven Judging will be at Office at Bullhole South at 5.30 pm -all meals to be bought to that spot for Judging
• Camp site judging by Sue and Ian Gordon
• ALL PRIZE WINNERS  also receive a $100 voucher for next Gordon Country stay within next 6 month period

Entrance FEE:  There is a $5 fee for each competition entry for both Camp Oven and Best dressed Campsite. This is payable at time of booking and paying your camping fee

GORDON COUNTRY SHOP- Gordon Country has opened its own shop to service its guests. Items include:

Ice, Bread, Milk, Soft drinks, Ice blocks, Bottled water, Camping groceries (flour, sugar, tea , coffee, sugar, matches aeroguard, candles etc) Cigarettes Exchange gas bottles.

Please note the shop is not open Monday - Friday. Normal weekends we are open in the mornings from around 8.00 am. On long weekends and major holiday periods we are open most of Saturday and Sunday

Prices for camping, caravans and cabins on Long Weekends, New Year and Easter at Gordon Country are based on a 'block price' or part thereof. 

• Free firewood  (you collect it from the paddocks. You may need an axe or chainsaw for the large pieces )
• Free for Children under 4yrs free
• Free hot showers
• Pets (Dogs only) are welcome

While you are welcome to use the trails and valleys for 4WD,  Motorised bikes are not permitted on the property.

You have access to thousands of acres of magnificent walks and 4WD drive trails.
We adjoin the spectacular World Heritage listed Main Range National Parks with 'Daintree ' like rainforest walks, waterfalls and lookouts......explore at your leisure.

Check in time from 7 am and anytime for checkout.

Although camp-sites can be nominated at time of booking, we allow guests to choose on arrival. Long Weekends are a busy time and we encourage guests who prefer privacy to bring a porta pottie and camp showers - this means you do not have to be close to our amenities and ensures more privacy. For those who wish to be close amenities this is fine but it is usually busier around facilities.
