Gordon Country Camping – what you need to know

Camping at Country Country commences at 2081 Inverramsey Road, GOOMBURRA..

For those folks who haven’t previously visited Gordon Country,  we are 4000 acres with kilometers of creek front camping and the sheer size will amaze you.  Each site, of which there are well over 20, are several acres in themselves.  You can imagine in that case, that each site can facilitate a number of very spacious camps.  We also now have the additional campsites at the Retreat area available for booking.

Rest assured that our sheer size makes us unique in our  holding capacity and although bookings are necessary on long weekends  enabling us to regulate numbers – we will always have capacity!  On off peak weekends, online booking is still preferred however we certainly do have capacity to take cash on arrival.

On completion of making your booking it’s VITAL THAT YOU PRINT YOUR RECEIPT AND BRING IT WITH YOUWithout your receipt, we reserve the right to obtain your credit card details on arrival.

Remember, there is no phone reception or internet so adults and children alike will have to engage in real conversations!  But on that note, it does mean we are at least a half hour from the nearest hospital and services so please ensure that you always camp with a first aid kit.

How do I pick a Campsite?

Our biggest tip for you to find the spot that best suits you and your family and friends – EXPLORE EXPLORE EXPLORE!  But here are a few tips to help you on your way:

Best Sites for Caravans:

  • Powered Camp Site
  • Bull Hole
  • Black Cockatoo

Powered Sites

Our powered sites are available on our Office Camp Site. The powered Camp sites are across 20 acres on a beautiful, flat, grassy area at the base of a mountain and next to a meandering creek.  For larger group bookings please do not hesitate to contact us and we’ll certainly do our best to accommodate you.

Sites with Facilities

  • The Office/Powered Sites:  Hot showers and Septic Toilets with disabled access
  • Black Cockatoo: Hot showers and Septic Toilets
  • Festival Site: Septic Toilets
  • Banshee Valley: Septic Toilets
  • Retreat Camping: Hot showers and Septic Toilets requiring a key to access which is given on check-in.

Please note that all campsites are within one to two kilometres of toilets and/or showers.


There’s always loads of firewood on the ground at Gordon Country, a natural blessing!  Collect all you need for your stay as it’s included in your camping fees.

If it’s more convenient and a time saver for you, we have bagged timber available – signposted –for $16 bag.  You can prepay for a bag when you make an Online Reservation.

Peak periods and Long weekends

While it has remained our policy not to increase our base fees over peak periods, we do charge a flat rate over long weekends.


There is a mandatory vehicle fee of $10 per car OR $30 should you wish to utilize the four wheel drive trails. These are a one off fee and cover the duration of your stay.

Please note:  While we are reluctant to include a vehicle fee – the cost of sustainable road and track maintenance has sky rocketed over the last several years limiting our options.  It is an absolute priority to us to maintain safe, and reliable access for vehicles and we ask that you appreciate the upkeep required on this internal infrastructure.
